Deathcamp [Homeland Jingle]

This deliberately fragmented play clashes Bowie, Britney, Diddy, Fassbinder, David Wojnarowicz, Macbeth and Tennyson’s “The Lotos-Eaters” in a tragicomic stand-up act for our post-truth world.

It was picked for the Page to Stage new writing showcase at The Horse & Stables Theatre, London in November 2016, with Rachel Creeger directing Carrie Cohen and Greg Page. An industry feedback panel featured Matt Applewhite from Nick Hern Books and playwright Afsaneh Gray. (A slightly scary Britain’s Got Talent-type instant reaction in front of an audience, but one of the panel compared the play to Caryl Churchill, which helped.)

The piece was published in New York playwriting journal The Dionysian in June 2017.
