Hunters
Ben’s first full-length play focuses on a group of LGBTQ+ Soho residents: a gentrifying property owner, a tech wiz, a fetish wear designer and several sex workers. They’re forced to overcome their differences and join forces as a real-life ‘superhero’ team to fight a city-wide spike in gang hate crimes. When one of the group’s abducted, they have to race the clock to track him down and do battle with the gang to try and save him.
Hunters was selected for a public reading in the ScriptSpace new writing season at The Space, London, in August 2017. It also reached the second reading round with the Bush Theatre Playwriting Department.
Hannah Calascione (Offie Award winner for All the Little Lights, Tristan Bates Theatre) directed a scene from the play featuring Jonny Cordingley and Freddie Wintrip as homeless lovers Billy and Clay for Blue Guitar Theatre’s scratch night at Hatch, Homerton, in February 2017.
