Ben’s short play was selected by new writing company Sharp Scratches for their showcase at the Courtyard Theatre in November 2016.

It was also chosen by ARC Stockton for their ARCADE New Writing Scratch night, performed at the venue by students from Northumbria University’s Theatre and Performance MA course in January 2017.

This poetic piece is about the slipperiness of memory and the survival of a long-term queer relationship through its highs and lows over decades. It features a couple (written to be of any gender identification) in their 50s looking back at themselves in the first throes of love in their 20s. Desperate to change the past, the older couple step back in time and try to physically intervene in their younger selves’ choices.
